Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how George K. Kollitides III ("I," "me," or "Site Owner") collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit georgekollitidesiii.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
This Policy works alongside the Site's Terms of Service.
1. Information I Collect
a. Information You Provide
If you submit a message through the contact form, I collect:
- Your first and last name;
- Your email address;
- The subject line and message body you choose to include; and
- Any other information you voluntarily include in your message.
b. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies, server logs, and analytics tools, including:
- IP address (often truncated for privacy);
- Device, browser, and operating system information;
- Approximate geographic location (typically at the city or region level);
- Pages viewed, time spent on pages, referring URLs, and exit pages;
- Date and time of access; and
- Other standard log and analytics data.
I do not intentionally collect financial account numbers, government identifiers, health information, precise geolocation, or other categories of sensitive personal information.
2. How I Use Information
I use the information described above to:
- Respond to your inquiries submitted through the contact form;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
- Understand traffic patterns and how visitors engage with the Site;
- Detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents, abuse, or unlawful activity; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
I do not use the information collected through the Site for targeted advertising, profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, or sale of personal information.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for two main purposes:
- Strictly necessary cookies that are required for the Site to function (such as those set by the hosting platform).
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics and any built-in analytics provided by the Site's hosting platform, which help me understand how visitors use the Site.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how the Site functions. If a cookie consent banner is displayed on the Site, your preferences expressed there will govern.
4. Third-Party Services
The Site uses the following categories of third-party services. Each has its own privacy practices, and I encourage you to review them:
- Hosting and Site Platform — provides the infrastructure on which the Site runs and may collect standard server and visitor analytics.
- Google Analytics — provided by Google LLC, used to measure Site traffic and engagement. Google may process this information in the United States and other countries. You can learn more at policies.google.com/privacy and opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Email service — used to deliver contact form submissions to my inbox.
I do not sell personal information to these or any other third parties.
5. How Information Is Shared
I share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers that operate the Site on my behalf (hosting, analytics, email delivery), under appropriate confidentiality and data-processing terms;
- Legal compliance — when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Site Owner or others;
- Business transfers — if I form an entity to operate the Site or otherwise transfer the Site, information may be transferred to a successor entity as part of that transaction; and
- With your consent.
6. Data Retention
I retain contact form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and to maintain a record of correspondence, after which they may be deleted or archived. Analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of the analytics provider, which is typically between two and fourteen months. You may request earlier deletion as described in Section 8.
7. Security
I use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights. To exercise them, contact me through the form on the Site and describe your request and the rights you are asserting. I will verify your identity in a manner proportionate to the sensitivity of the data requested.
a. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the right to: access your personal data; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to its processing; receive it in a portable format; withdraw consent at any time; and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. The legal bases I rely on are legitimate interests (operating and improving the Site), consent (where required, such as for non-essential cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.
b. California (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed; correct inaccurate personal information; delete personal information; limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
c. Other U.S. States
If you reside in a U.S. state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law — including but not limited to Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia — you may have rights similar to those listed above under your state's law. I will honor applicable rights under the law of your state of residence.
d. Global Privacy Control
I honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal where required by applicable law as an opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
e. Marketing Communications
The Site does not currently offer a newsletter or marketing emails. If that changes, you will be able to unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA, UK, and certain U.S. states), and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, please contact me and I will delete it.
10. International Visitors
The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries that may have data protection laws different from your country. Where required, I rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.
11. AI Training and Automated Use
Consistent with the Site's Terms of Service, you may not use any information from the Site — including content, images, biographical information, or material submitted through the contact form — to train, fine-tune, or otherwise develop any machine learning or generative AI system without my prior express written authorization. I do not use information collected through the Site to train AI systems.
12. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Because there is no industry-standard interpretation of these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them, but it does honor the Global Privacy Control as described above.
13. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. For material changes, I will use reasonable efforts to provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
14. Contact
For questions about this Policy or to exercise your privacy rights, please contact me through the contact form on the Site.
